The winners of the Slogan Competition were recently presented with their prizes by Chief Constable Mick Giannasi of Heddlu Gwent Police and Area Manager for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Mr Martin Henderson.
There were 283 excellent entries from Primary Schools representing all unitary authorities, wtih innovative, imaginative and thought provoking ideas on the theme of ‘Keeping the roads in Wales safe’.
The winner was Ben Rose from St Julian’s Junior School with his slogan
and the runner up was Keigan Ayling from Griffithstown Primary School with his slogan
As well as receiving Certificates and their original artwork in a frame, the boys will be having a VIP session at Malpas Fire Station in the new term. They will be shown around the building and vehicles and they will look at the gadgets that are in use there. They will then receive an A3 framed copy of their slogans and a WH Smith voucher.
The winning slogan has been on display on the Second Severn Crossing over the Easter Holidays, reminding drivers of the important message to drive safely in Wales.
