The Louis Taylor Road Safety Road Show

Following a very successful pilot last year, The Louis Taylor Road Safety Road Show returned to Newport to deliver his entertaining yet very informative show.

altChildren´s entertainer Louis has been running road safety shows for 12 years and uses a blend of fun and magic to get across serious road safety messages in a fun and interactive way.

Using colourful characters such as Billy Beacon and Mr Rocco the altracoon who involves the children in the use of safe crossing places, the show teaches vital life skills to help children to deal with the ever changing traffic conditions and manage the roads more safely in the future. The presentation includes the importance of holding hands with an adult at all times, using child safety seats and seat belts, for Key altStage 1 and the need to concentrate with the task in hand when crossing roads and remember the importance of using a properly fitted cycle helmet and being seen at all times for the Key Stage 2 children.

On this tour, he visited nine infant, junior and primary schools entertaining over 2000 children and many teachers.

John Jackson Newport’s Road Safety Officer said "The show complements the work being carried out by the road safety team and together we hope to leave a lasting impression on the children, getting them to take in important points which could save their lives."
