Towing Rules

  • You must not tow more than your licence permits you to.
  • You must not overload your vehicle or trailer.
  • You should not tow a weight greater than recommended by the manufacturer of your vehicle.

Note. If you are only hauling one horse, put the animal on the driver’s side. If you are hauling more than one horse, put the heavier one on the driver’s side. This is because roads are usually cambered higher in the middle and the extra weight over the driver’s side will help to balance the trailer.
