Manouevring

Manouevering
  • Remember with a trailer or caravan attached your vehicle will more or less double in size. Always consider this extra size when taking corners or manoeuvring in a confined space. Take a wide line to ensure the trailer does not clip the kerb, keeping a watchful eye on both door mirrors.
  • When reversing into a space, turn the steering wheel the opposite way to normal to start the trailer turning, then slacken off and turn the normal way to enable the car to follow the trailer. Be careful not to over steer and jack-knife the trailer causing damage. If the turn is going wrong simply pull forward and try again. It can be a difficult skill to master, even for the most experienced of drivers, so don’t give up and keep practicing!
