This initiative is in its infancy at the moment. It was launched at the end of 2008 and takes place in schools and colleges across Wales. The competition is open to all students aged between 11 – 25.
The young people are given a brief to put together a presentation with the theme of Drinking and Driving, and its consequences. It can be delivered via any media, for example, poem, power-point, clog dance, play or song.
It must be no more than 3 minutes in length and have no more than 6 people included. The entries are sent in on disc and judged accordingly. A winner is selected for each unitary authority and also an overall winner for Gwent.
The overall winners is sent to RoSPA and entered into the all Wales final. The authority winners receive £200 for the group and £100 for the school.
The overall Gwent winner receives £500 from the Welsh Assembly and is invited to attend the Anti Drink-Drive Launch, where their entry is presented to an audience.
