Is Your School Involved?
There are currently eight schools taking part in the Music Challenge in 2008. Is your school one of them?
If not, why not ask your music teacher if you can take part.
Ingredients:
One band
One original piece of music
One original set of lyrics (preferably that fit the music!)
A large dollop of rehearsal
An image
Method:
Compose an original piece of music and a set of lyrics with an anti-drink drive theme. Arrange for your school band to play it, not forgetting that practice makes perfect. Sort out an image that fits your song and the band members. Arrive at the Little Theatre in Blackwood on 17 November 2008 to take part in the 2008 Gwent Music Challenge. Mix liberally with other schools, Young Farmers, Communities First, Church groups and Dragon Bands. Perform your song in front of a live audience and panel of influential judges. If you win you could walk away with £150 for the band and £150 for your school together with a trophy and the opportunity to perform in public at the All Wales Anti-Drink Drive Campaign Launch (the TV cameras have been known to be present in the past!),

We look forward to seeing you up on the stage in November.
