David Bellamy (OBE) Encourages Young Cyclists at Cantref Primary School, Abergavenny.
What has David Bellamy OBE got in common with Road Safety? Quite simply, both are interested in the preservation of the species, or life cycle (?).
The famous botanist, author, broadcaster and environmental campaigner was on a visit to Cantref School while the children were taking their Cycle Test.
Mr Bellamy agreed to have his photograph taken with the successful cyclists and with no thought about his personal safety, the great man proceeded to lie on floor in front of them in his own inimitable way!
In the interests of Road Safety, a career change as a “living sleeping policeman” was turned down.
